22h22: Les autorités américaines en charge de la protection du président des États-Unis ont neutralisé par balle, ce lundi, un individu à proximité de la Maison-Blanche, a annoncé le Secret Service.

La fusillade a «impliqué des policiers à l’angle de la 15e rue et l’Independance Avenue», à Washington, a écrit l’organisme sur X. «Une personne a été touchée par balle par les forces de l’ordre», a-t-il ajouté, soulignant que l’état de santé des personnes présentes sur place n’était pour l’heure pas connu.

Donald Trump s’apprêtait à tenir une conférence de presse à la Maison-Blanche sur la situation en Iran quand les faits sont survenus. Il a pris la parole quelques minutes plus tard, après que la Maison-Blanche a été placée en confinement.

Cet épisode intervient dans un contexte de forte tension sécuritaire à Washington, quelques jours après une fusillade lors du gala annuel de la presse, où un homme armé avait ouvert le feu avant d’être maîtrisé.
