C'est au Théâtre National de Croatie que Mira Furlan a commencé sa carrière avant de partir aux États-Unis en 1991. Et en 1993, elle décroche le rôle de "Delenn" dans "Babylon 5", qu'elle incarnera pendant 5 saisons. Puis, en 2004, elle rejoint le casting de la série "Lost", et y interprète la française scientifique Danielle Rousseau.
